now, that’s an order: chai pumpkin bread

Ever since returning from my trip last week, it’s been slow going in the blog-reading department. However, I made sure I got all caught up on my blogroll this morning. So many impressive recipes caught my eye, including Honey Roasted Chunky Peanut Butter Cookies from Joe at Culinary in the Desert, Soft Chewy Ginger Cookies at Kaji’s Mom, and this not-so-humble Tuna Salad at Cumin & Coriander. Yummy!! But drooling onto my keyboard is one thing, getting breakfast ready was another. When lo and behold, I spotted this lovely Chai Pumpkin Bread at the always wonderful 28 Cooks. I whipped up this simple recipe and in no time my kitchen was smelling like the holidays. Now, not only do I have some delicious pumpkin bread to keep me company this afternoon, but I’ve got a feeling I’ll be making some soup for dinner with the leftover canned pumpkin. Stay tuned!

    I love pumpkin anything!
I have been making a thick ‘n hearty ‘smoky squash/pumpkin soup’ for over a year now. The secret ingredient that makes it so divine is the smoky chipotle pepper seasoning and some fresh cilantro…even for a non-soup person like moi, I can’t resist the awesome flavour. Chipotle pepper tastes good on just about anything…amen.

Glad you enjoyed the pumpkin bread. Isn’t it divine??
I’ve been obsessed with the Fleur de sel caramels since you posted them, and I actually have my second batch on the stove right now.
I’ll post about them tomorrow. Thanks for the great inspiration.

I’m leaving this comment a a long time after the original post, but I love this loaf, and have just made it for the second time. It won rave reviews with my co-workers (those I liked enough to share with), and I’m listing it on my blog as one of my favourite recipes of last year. Thanks for sharing this!

Holy pumpkin loaf from heaven! Very simple recipe – loved the texture and level of spice. Perfect for the season!
