Today is my husband’s birthday and while I didn’t go out and make him a cake (we’ve had enough baking and sweets for a while), I do have some very delicious banana bread to share as a birthday treat. The recipe will come soon in the next few days as this banana bread is just plain lovely.
I did a recap last January and I’ll start off this year with the same thing. These are my some of my favorite recipes from last year and most have been made again and again. They’re that good. Enjoy these old favorites and look forward to lots of exciting new ones. Onwards and upwards 2009!
My oh my, you’ve certainly had a wonderfully-tasty 2008 on the blog!! Can’t wait to see more in 2009 🙂
Happy birthday to your husband!!
Congrats on another great year, and continued success in 2009. I’m off to go make that apple and onion pizza – it sounds delish!
I looked down through your list, spotted the broccoli, chickpea and millet salad – and thought, that’s right up my street – and then I saw the apple, onion and cheddar pizza – and thought that’s just too intruiging for words, I’ll have to give it a whirl 🙂
Today is my husband’s birthday as well! I feel somewhat sorry for him as usually everyone is done with eating, drinking, partying, celebrating, and shopping by Jan 2nd. I know I am! I didn’t bake either but he got to go skiing. Look forward to more great posts in 2009.
Mmmmmmm, I can’t decide which one I want to make/eat first! Yummers. Thanks for all the great food ideas/recipes over the last year.
I can attest to the biscuits’ awesomeness!! They are delish every time I make them! I want to try the date thing when we get settled down from our vacation(we’re in North Carolina visiting my folks). The spoonbread looks tasty too.
Happy New Year and Hubby B-day!!
Molly
Thanks for the 2008 food recap !! I see some oldies but goodies on there that I completely forgot about…red ale cake, beets salad, raisin biscuit…oh boy, I’m sure glad I signed up for a Pilates class at the local community centre. I think I’m going to need it 😉
Happy B-day C!!
